Rodeo Family Fun
Day 1: Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo
- Morning: Arrive in the Tri-Cities and check into your accommodation, then grab a hearty breakfast at local favorite Sterling’s Restaurant.
- Lunch: Grab lunch at one of the many food vendors at the fair, enjoying plenty of kid-friendly options like corn dogs, nachos, and fresh lemonade.
- Afternoon: Spend the morning exploring the fairgrounds at the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo. Enjoy the various exhibits, animal barns, and kid-friendly activities like the petting zoo and pony rides.
- Evening: Stay for the evening entertainment, which often includes live music, the Demolition Derby, or the rodeo, the Horse Heaven Round-Up!
Day 2: Explore Richland & Pasco
- Morning: Head to Anthony’s at Columbia Point in Richland for a scenic breakfast by the river, followed by a visit to Howard Amon Park. Kids can enjoy the playgrounds, and you can take a family walk along the river.
- Lunch: Enjoy a unique dining experience at Monterosso’s Italian Restaurant, in a historic train car in Richland.
- Afternoon: Explore the REACH Museum in Richland, which offers interactive exhibits about the Columbia Basin’s natural and cultural history, followed by a visit to Sacajawea State Park in Pasco, the site where Lewis & Clark camped with their interpreter Sacajawea in 1805. Visit the Sacajawea Interpretive Center, see the story circle sculptures, and the kids can play while you enjoy the scenic views.
- Evening: Enjoy a casual dinner in Richland at Atomic Ale Brewpub & Eatery, with options for both kids and adults.
Day 3: Explore Kennewick
- Morning: Start your day with breakfast at The Country Mercantile, known for its delicious pastries and farm-fresh goodies, then visit the Gesa Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick for some classic fun. Kids will love the beautifully restored carousel and nearby playground.
- Lunch: Have lunch in Kennewick at the family-friendly Ice Harbor Brewing Company. They offer great pub fare and root beer for the kids.
- Afternoon: Pay a visit to the 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial Monument in Kennewick, or the kids are up for it, take a quick trip to the East Benton County Historical Museum in Kennewick to learn more about local history.
- Evening: Before leaving the Tri-Cities, enjoy a final family dinner at the cozy Sage Port Grille, known for its welcoming atmosphere and tasty comfort food.
