2nd Annual Royal Rosca
January 4, 2025 12:00 PM –5:00 PM
Overview
Join us for the second annual Royal Rosca event, where we will continue to celebrate the beloved tradition of Three Kings Day (Día de los Reyes) in the heart of our community! Following the incredible success of last year’s event, which garnered attention from multiple newspapers, TV channels, and radio stations, we are excited to extend our reach and share this cherished Hispanic tradition with even more families in the Tri-Cities.
On January 4th, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 PM at the Pasco Red Lion, we will serve over 90 feet of Rosca de Reyes, alongside over 400 cups of delicious, Mexican-inspired hot chocolate. Our mission this year is to raise funds for the Tri-Cities Cancer Foundation, supporting patients and their families on their journey through cancer care. Last year, we raised over $2,000 for Grace Kitchen, and this year, we aim to make an even bigger impact.
Three Kings Day is a cherished celebration in the Hispanic community, marking the arrival of the Three Wise Men who brought gifts to baby Jesus. Observed on January 6th, this day symbolizes generosity, faith, and tradition. A central part of the festivities is the Rosca de Reyes—a sweet bread shaped like a crown, adorned with candied fruits representing jewels. Hidden inside the bread is a small figurine of baby Jesus. Whoever finds the figurine is honored as a host for a gathering on Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas) on February 2nd, continuing the spirit of community and togetherness. (NOTE: THERE ARE NO BABIES HIDDEN IN OUR ROSCA)
We invite families and friends from all walks of life to join us for this festive occasion! Enjoy a slice of Rosca de Reyes, sip on some hot chocolate, and explore a vibrant marketplace featuring 25 local vendors. Delight in live musical performances, and don’t miss the chance to take photos with the Three Kings themselves!
