Celebrate Valentine's Day with a road trip to Tri-Cities for a romantic weekend getaway in the Heart of Washington Wine Country.

You and your special someone can take a self-guided tour through Wine Country and enjoy the bold flavors and wide open spaces together. For an extra boost of relaxation, book yourself a spa appointment at the Columbia Point Spa at The Lodge.

Friday

Check into one of our many riverfront hotels in the Tri-Cities, such as the Hampton Inn Richland, Homewood Suites, Clover Island Inn or The Lodge at Columbia Point. All four hotels offer a relaxing place to call home for the weekend, conveniently connected to riverfront trails, and opportunities to walk or bike to multiple parks.

4:00 p.m.

Now that you’re all checked in to your hotel for the weekend, it’s time to explore new flavors and head to Tulip Lane for a couple tastings. Starting at Bookwalter Winery tasting room and then venturing to the neighboring Barnard Griffin and Tagaris Winery. All featuring different blends of wine that stand out from each other.

7:00 p.m.

After an afternoon of tastings, settle in for a dinner date like no other at Tagaris Taverna or Fiction @ J .Bookwalter. Order a bottle for the table and dine on chef-inspired seasonal menu items from appetizers all the way through dessert.

Saturday

Enjoy a fresh hot coffee and pastry from Ethos Bakery or Peacock Coffee in The Parkway in Richland to get you fueled up for a morning adventure.

9:30 a.m.

Experience Tri-Cities at new heights with a hike up Badger or Candy Mountain. A morning hike in Richland offers the opportunity to breathe in the fresh morning air, soak up some sun rays and see the area you’ll explore this weekend from a bird’s eye view!

12:00 p.m.

After a morning of fresh air and a brief resting period, your appetites are sure to be worked up! Continue your couples tasting adventure and head out to Red Mountain for a lunch and tasting at Terra Blanca Winery.

2:00 p.m.

Venture to another tasting room on Red Mountain:

  • Hitch a ride on a horse-drawn wagon ride through the vineyards at Red Mountain Trails Winery
  • Stop at Frichette Winery for an "edutainment" tasting experience while taking in the breathtaking view of Red Mountain vineyards.
  • Taste wine at Kiona Vineyards where they have been calling Red Mountain home for more than 40 years!

3:00 p.m.

Continue up the mountain and have a snack with your tasting at Fidelitas pairing varietals with a charcuterie or at Hedges Estate, a French-inspired winery with small plates to pair with your tastings.

4:30 p.m.

Watch the sunset from the top of Red Mountain at Col Solare or Hightower Cellars for your final tasting before your second evening in the Tri-Cities.

7:30 p.m.

Clover Island at Cedars at Pier 1. Their menu features amazing steaks, seafood, and pasta dishes all with a riverfront view and unique upscale dining experience.

Sunday

9:00 a.m.

Enjoy a walk from your hotel along the river before packing, checking out of your room and heading to Sunday brunch.

10:00 a.m.

For a morning of breakfast comfort food and signature brunch beverages, Magill’s has a great breakfast line up for all morning cravings.

12:00 p.m.

One last mini date before you hit the road back to reality! Go see who can get the most bullseyes and try your hand at axe throwing at AXE KPR in Pasco and make sure you grab some tacos for the ride home at the Taqueria El Rancho!
