The Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council is inviting visitors and residents to gather in Kennewick’s Columbia Park for the 2nd Annual Celebration of Community, Diversity & Culture being held on Saturday, August 6 to highlight the beauty in diversity, create cultural awareness, and promote community!
Spend the day experiencing food, entertainment, and traditions of the following cultures and communities that have made the Tri-Cities their home: Thailand, Mongolia, Mali, Republic of the Marshall Islands, France, India, Pakistan, Sudan, Dominican Republic, Africa, Mexico, Haiti, Japan, England, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Kurdistan, Malaysia, Syria, Pacific Islands, Asia, Latino, Moorish, American, Yakama Nation, Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, African American, LGBTQ and other diverse communities. It will truly be a global experience right here in the Tri-Cities!
This event was thoughtfully planned to be inclusive, accessible, and comfortable for all to attend. It is a free, family-friendly event with kids’ activities, as well as a beer and wine garden featuring locally owned Sage Brewing Company and Frichette Winery.
The Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community organization dedicated to fostering a unified community, embracing cultures, and celebrating diversity through education, advocacy, and the promotion of cultural competence and compassion. The Council is comprised of group of diverse, passionate individuals who want to foster positive change with the common goal of creating an inclusive community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected regardless of their differences. The Council serves as an information hub to connect community members to available resources, provide DEI consulting and training to local organizations, partner with organizations that support underrepresented communities, and host year-round community events.
Tri-IDEAs is a program exploring and celebrating Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility through tourism in the Tri-Cities.
At Visit Tri-Cities, we believe travel is transformative on multiple levels. Exploring new destinations exposes us to different ideas, cultures, history, heritages and people. Through Tri-IDEAs, Visit Tri-Cities will connect with local business owners, community leaders, event organizers, residents and more to highlight, share and celebrate the diversity of the Tri-Cities that can be experienced through travel and tourism activities.
