City of Kennewick Welcomes TBEX North America 2022
Welcome to Kennewick and the Tri-Cities, TBEX! If you are interested in having fun, Kennewick is the place for you.
The largest of the Tri-Cities, Kennewick is located 225 miles southeast of Seattle and 136 miles southwest of Spokane, WA.
Kennewick has a growing economy and is the retail hub of Southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon, The pursuit of happiness stretches 28 square miles and features a variety of sports and recreational activities, entertainment, art, shopping and a casual, easy-living vibe. Our reputation for fun extends to 27 parks, 3 fantastic golf courses, and more than 200 Columbia Valley wineries.
From fast-paced Tri-City Americans Western Hockey League action to big name acts, the Three Rivers Entertainment District is home to the Toyota Center and Three Rivers Convention Center. Hotel accommodations, nearby Columbia Center and a variety of dining choices make this a visitor-friendly fun zone for all ages.
Make memories at the century-old, fully restored Gesa Carousel of Dreams, a truly amazing and beautiful work of art, at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex. Attracting over 400,000 visitors annually, this 52-acre state-of-the art multi-use development features an indoor sports and events pavilion, the seasonal Friday evening Sunset at Southridge food truck and live entertainment series, and the 9-11 Memorial, proudly constructed with a 30-foot steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center Twin Towers.
Escape to the Historic Downtown and Waterfront District where the past and the present come together for a unique shopping, dining, and recreational experience. From nostalgic to whimsical, admire streetscape art, unwind on Clover Island with spectacular views of the river, and check out the Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village.
Our Historic Downton is also one of the newest creative districts in Washington. The South Columbia Creative District (SOCO) was certified in 2021. Within SOCO’s boundaries, there are already 24 public art pieces ranging from murals and sculptures to art-wrapped utility boxes and more than 50% of the business in the Historic Downtown are classified as creative industries. You can take a self-guided tour of public art throughout the City by using the popular interactive art map.
Columbia Park is the Mid-Columbia’s premier outdoor gathering place, hosting the Toyota of Tri-Cities Playground of Dreams and Columbia River Landing Golf Tri-Plex that includes a restaurant with beautiful views of the river. Over 100 special events are held in Columbia Park annually; including the July 4th River of Fire Festival and the Water Follies Hydroplane race. Tens of thousands of spectators line the shores of the Columbia River the last weekend in July to watch the world’s fastest boats and air show.
Many who discover Kennewick often comment that this is one of the “best kept secrets ever”. Whether it is recreation, art, wine or retail therapy, friendly locals welcome you to help unlock the secret!
